I have been engaged in food security studies in 30 countries around the world in which the three basic elements of food security: availability, access, and utilization have been the analytical focus. The majority of this research has been conducted at both the household level and at the policy level. An example of this work has been my assessments of school feeding programs for the World Food Programme in Kenya, Egypt, Haiti, Honduras, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Zambia, and Uganda, as well as vulnerability assessments in Sudan, Angola, Mozambique, and Chechnya.
